Link G4X Subaru WRX6X Plug-In ECU – WRX Version 5 / 6

The Link G4X Subaru WRX6X Plug-In ECU gives you modern standalone engine management while retaining the convenience of a genuine plug-in ECU.

Designed specifically for the Subaru WRX Version 5 and Version 6 with EJ20 engine, the WRX6X fits directly into the factory ECU location using the original mounting points, wiring loom and ECU connectors.

No replacement engine loom or adaptor harness is required. The ECU is designed to work with the factory wiring while retaining supported original vehicle functions and maintaining a clean, factory-style installation.

A startup map is included to help get the engine running ready for final setup and calibration.

The WRX6X uses the same processor, firmware and PCLink software as the rest of the Link G4X range and includes the standard G4X feature set.

Suitable Applications

The WRX6X is designed to suit the following 4 grey plug applications:

• Subaru WRX Version 5, GC8F with EJ20 engine – 1998 to 1999

• Subaru WRX Version 6, GC8G with EJ20 engine – 1999 to 2000

Important Compatibility Information

Please check your original ECU connector arrangement against the ECU header shown in the product photos before ordering.

• Suitable for 4 grey plug applications

• Suitable for manual transmissions only

• Air temperature sensor is highly recommended

• Most factory features are supported

• E-Throttle requires an Expansion Loom before it can be used

CAN Connection

PCB V1.4 onwards of the WRX6X uses Link's newer 4-pin powered CAN connector and cannot use the older CANPCB cable.

For connecting CAN devices, use the CANJST4 cable – Part Number 101-0198.

The 4-pin connection provides:
