Description
Ecumaster 8 Channel EGT to CAN Module – K-Type Thermocouple to CAN
The Ecumaster 8 Channel EGT to CAN Module is a compact thermocouple-to-CAN converter designed to measure exhaust gas temperature from up to 8 K-type thermocouple probes and transmit the data over CAN bus.
Monitoring exhaust gas temperature per cylinder is a cost-effective way to check engine health, combustion balance, and air distribution through the intake manifold. The measured EGT data can be displayed or logged on a compatible CAN-based data logging system and can also be used for cylinder fuel trim strategies on Ecumaster ECUs.
The module is also suitable for use with compatible aftermarket ECUs and CAN data systems, including Link ECU installations where thermocouple-to-CAN data is required.
Key Features
8 Channel EGT Measurement
Converts signals from up to 8 K-type thermocouple probes into CAN bus data.
K-Type Thermocouple Support
Designed for use with K-type EGT probes.
CAN Bus Output
Transmits exhaust gas temperature data over CAN bus for use with compatible ECUs, dashboards, and loggers.
Fully Configurable CAN ID
CAN message IDs are fully configurable to suit your data logging system or ECU setup.
Useful for Cylinder Monitoring
Allows exhaust gas temperature monitoring for each cylinder, helping identify mixture balance, airflow distribution, and potential engine issues.
Cylinder Fuel Trim Support
EGT data can be used for cylinder fuel trim strategies on compatible Ecumaster ECUs.
Compatible with CAN Data Systems
Suitable for integration with Ecumaster systems, Link ECU CAN setups, and other compatible data logging systems.
Compact Motorsport Module
Small, lightweight module suitable for race, rally, drift, track, and engine development applications.
Why Use EGT Monitoring?
Measuring exhaust gas temperature from each cylinder helps provide useful information about engine balance and performance. When correctly installed and interpreted, EGT data can help with:
- Checking air distribution across the intake manifold
- Monitoring cylinder-to-cylinder temperature variation
- Supporting tuning and fuel trim decisions
- Identifying potential lean running conditions
- Monitoring turbocharged and high-performance engines
- Improving data analysis during testing and race use
