The EMU Black is an advanced standalone engine management system designed for high-performance and motorsport applications. It controls fuel, ignition, auxiliary systems, drive-by-wire throttle, variable valve timing, boost control, flex fuel, engine protection strategies, and more.

Unlike many standalone ECU systems, the EMU Black includes a range of built-in features that reduce the need for external modules, including:

Ecumaster PMU16 Autosport Power Management Unit

The Ecumaster PMU16 Autosport is designed for demanding customers and installations where reliability and robustness are a priority. It replaces traditional fuses, relays, and circuit breakers with an intelligent programmable power distribution system suitable for professional motorsport and harsh operating environments.

Autosport connectors represent the highest quality connector standard used in professional motorsport and aerospace applications. The battery connection uses a Radlok connector rated to 200A, allowing disconnection without the need for tools. The output connector is a custom 18-pin, 12-gauge connector designed and manufactured specifically for Ecumaster.

The PMU16 Autosport features an IP65 environmental protection rating, making it suitable for dusty and wet environments. Compared with the standard PMU16, the Autosport version adds 6 low-side outputs rated at 1A per channel. It also features 14 main output channels rated at 25A and 2 output channels rated at 40A.

As with other Ecumaster products, mating connectors and terminals are included at no extra cost, saving the hassle and expense of ordering separate components.

What Is a PMU Used For?

A Power Management Unit, or PMU, replaces traditional relays, fuses, and circuit breakers with a programmable electronic power distribution system. Instead of wiring multiple separate relays and fuse boxes throughout the vehicle, the PMU allows electrical devices to be powered, controlled, protected, and monitored from one central unit.

This makes it ideal for motorsport and performance vehicles where reliability, weight reduction, diagnostics, and flexible control are important. Devices such as fuel pumps, cooling fans, lights, ignition systems, water pumps, intercooler pumps, boost control solenoids, and other electrical loads can be controlled directly by the PMU.

Each output can be configured in software with current limits, activation conditions, fault protection, and CAN-based control. If a circuit draws too much current or develops a fault, the PMU can shut the output down and report the issue, helping protect the vehicle wiring and connected components.

USB-to-CAN Interface Included
